Throughout the year, the Friends of WRR host or participate in a variety of special events designed to accomplish one or more of the following:

• Raise funds for specific initiatives, such as children's programming or the Airtime for the Arts fund
• Provide an opportunity for members to get together, such as the Annual Meeting
• Show support for WRR, such as the annual WRR Labor Day "Picnic In the Park"
